HAND MADE PIN CUSHION BASKET
This little basket is made of split wood cut from an oak tree grown in the Gloucester woods, right across the York River from the American Revolution Museum at Yorktown. The basket was woven by hand in the traditional manner by a farm site staff member at our Yorktown museum The pin cushion was made using sheep's wool for stuffing and covered in hand-loomed fabric. Basket measures about 5 inches tall, including handle; it's about 4.5 inches in diameter. Because of the hand-made nature of these items, no two are alike; the basket color and fabric color and pattern may not be the same as the one shown here.
